Effect of Scanning Strategies on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Ti-22Al-25Nb Alloy Fabricated through Selective Laser Melting

In this study, Ti-22Al-25Nb intermetallic compound alloys are fabricated through selective laser melting (SLM) at four scanning speeds (600, 700, 800, and 900 mm/s). The microstructure mechanical properties of the systematically evaluated. results indicate that speed significantly affects characteristics (e.g., relative density, grain size, texture precipitation secondary phases). variation laws density likewise affected by speed. increase then decrease with in alloy lowest (600 mm/s) exhibits maximum density. By contrast, highest (900 minimum Furthermore, precipitations O phase Ti3Al primarily distributed regions a high strain concentration near pool boundary. 600 mm/s simultaneously achieves strength elongation, which is closely correlated uniform distribution phases.
